This friday Oct 1, come out and support Connoisseur fam Cukui at their flagship store as they prepare to celebrate their collaboration with Punk Drunkers(Japan) as well as their pop up shop. Don't sleep on this event and gear cause it will go fast. Por favor believe it. Check the details below.
Cukui X Punk Drunkers
If you think “Uncool is Cool” then come to Cukui's event this Friday and check out the Punk Rock inspired clothing brand based out of Toyko, the PUNK DRUNKERS! Since 1998, PKDS has always stood behind their philosophy – “Never becoming stagnate and falling behind, and always embracing originality.” Their brand concept mixes Japanese culture with a little more funk and a lot of swag. Previous collections include collaborations with Trasher, Dickies, Hello Kitty, Invisible Stripes and Koncious Klothing.
The Cukui store will be carrying limited t-shirts, hats and sweaters from the PKDS collection as well as Cukui X PKDS collaboration t-shirts and jackets for the event.
We will also have live entertainment and music from local artist Dave Dub with the Sutter Cain Gang. The rest of the night’s vibe will be masterfully directed by DJ D-Styles.

As Suzi matured, so did her musical tastes. She started listening to hardcore hip-hop and was impressed by the freedom of self-expression through stories of pain and struggle. She started dabbling in production and drum kits. She started harmonizing against beatboxing in local ciphers. She started to breathe hip-hop.
Some of the first albums Suzi picked up were The Roots’ “Things Fall Apart” and Wu-Tang Clan’s “Enter the 36 Chambers”. It’s from Wu-Tang member, Rza (aka Bobby Digital) where Suzi got her name idea from. “I wanted to be his female counterpart, but in my own way.”
Theatre opened Suzi up to the possibility of fusing sound with performance. She worked closely with an award-winning troupe in Virginia in which she held multiple roles in productions. She would often infuse hip-hop and soul to compose music and dialogue for her independent productions. This garnered Suzi statewide notoriety.
Entering college added a new layer to Suzi’s musical ambitions and sound. Here is where she began to focus on recording, writing and collaborating again. She has performed at venues like The Khyber and The Fire, both in Philly and The Remote Lounge in New York. Suzi’s objective is to effect change. Drawing from experience, she uses music as her medium to fight wars against rampant miseducation about life, race, women, love and crime.
This self-proclaimed Brown Girl Wonder is Analogue. Analogue sound is the original sound. The simplistic harmonies and melodies transformed into other things. An analogue clock moves time using its hands. And that is exactly what she’s doing: creating something of her own lifetime using hard work. Expect to hear more from Suzi Analogue. The multi-talented and multi-faceted artist will be working on a studio release with Amsterdam’s uprising label Dopeness Galore and has collaborative projects lined up. She will also be releasing a series of self-recordings regularly.

The upcoming debut studio album by producer Ski Beatz titled “24 Hour Karate School” which is scheduled to be released on September 21, 2010...But I guess you can get it here 1st. Hip Hop music producer Ski Beatz (DJ Ski) is best known for producing some of the most critically acclaimed records of Jay-Z’s career (Reasonable Doubt – “Feelin’ It”, “Politics as Usual,” and “22 Two’s”; In My Lifetime Vol. 1 – “Streets Is Watching” and “Who You Wit 2″), as well as for his innovative production with the hip hop group Camp Lo. Red Bull King of the Rock – San Francisco and Oakland!
For 29 long years, more than 1,500 men dreamed of nothing but getting off of Alcatraz.But beginning on July 17, hundreds will try their hardest to make it onto the island, with the goal of being crowned King of the Rock. Red Bull King of the Rock will be the first sporting event held on Alcatraz since the inmates left the island over 50 years ago. This one-on-one basketball tournament will kick off with six qualifiers on the West Coast, with participating cities including: Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Seattle, San Francisco and Oakland. Sixty-Four contestants will emerge from these six qualifiers and make their way to Alcatraz, one of the world’s most iconic and recognizable locations, for the final showdown hosted by All-Star guard Rajon Rondo on September 18.
Both the Qualifiers and the Finals on Alcatraz will follow a straightforward concept where players go head-to-head in raw outdoor basketball, using a single elimination tournament bracket. Games will last five minutes and be subject to regulation hoops rules and scoring (2 and 3 pointers). All games will be played on a half-court layout with four games running at once, each with their own referee, court manager and scoreboard. Players definitely have to be tough to make it to The Rock, but must also play smart – five fouls equals an automatic loss. After each game the loser walks, and the winner must remain on the court to immediately face his next opponent. Thus, the more a player wins, the longer he plays. So while pure hoops ability is essential, endurance will also play a major role in overall victory. In the end, there can be only one king, so out of the 64 finalists, only one will be crowned “King of the Rock” and collect the $10,000 prize.
