Wieden+Kennedy 12, in partnership with Nike and LAIKA Studios, conceptualized this mysterious Dunk to celebrate Coraline, LAIKA’s first feature film, which will be released by Focus Features. True to the films unique, handcrafted anime style, the high-end canvas upper features a turned edge and the black visible seam is hand-sewn, ensuring each pair has a unique bespoke feel. The tonal contrast in materials and subtle, hidden details reflect the film’s sense of curiosity, not to mention the glow in the dark sole – spooky! The final product was created by artist Gian Galang and Rob Heppler.
A run of 1,000 is available for those lucky people who uncover codes on the Coraline website. A limited edition artist pack has also been released. These feature additional props from the film and a special box.
