Low End Theory Club In The L.A. Times

splash_top

Low End Theory is a party that happens in Los Angeles, where forward thinking (primarily) instrumental producers and djs (inlcuding Daddy Kev, Flying Lotus, The Glitch Mob, The Gaslamp Killer) get together to groove out for open-minded party-goers. The music ranges from instrumental hip-hop, to “glitch-hop”, to several other electronic-oriented down-tempo sounds. Many of the djs use effects and plug-ins to modify their (or other people’s) beats live. They briefly brought the party to New York, but it’s mainly been a Los Angeles affair. It’s a unique party that does not so much revolve around the listener, but around the dj/producer/performer.
